Summer tournament week 10

With 2 weeks to go, leader Bob Sherry lost to John Moldovan, then beat Pat Mazillo to clinc a tie for first with 14 points. John also drew Darsah Patel, and is second with 10 points. Mark Kernighan gained a half a point on John by beating Robert Vinson and andy Altamirrano, he has 9.5 points. Greg Tomkovich drew Pat Mazillo, and beat Breadon Reinoso to hold on to fourth with 8.5. Breadon also beat Antonio Altamirrano, to stay in 5th with 7.5 points, Antonio has clinched the U1200 prize with 6.5 and is in 6th place overall. Still with an outside shot at a prize are Samritha Palakollu with 7 and Praveen Balakrishnan and Pat Mazillo with 5.5.

Summer Tournament Week 9

Bob Sherry extended his lead to 4.5 games with wins over Samritha Palakollu and Breadon Reinoso. Bob has 13 points and can wrap up first place next week either with 2 more wins, or 1 win and less than 2 wins by John Moldovan. John held on to second place with 8.5 by losing to Mark Kernighan and beating Antonio Altamarrano, Mark is in third with 7.5. I beat Geoff McAuliffe to stay close with 7 points. Antonio is leading the U 1200 section with 6.5. In other matches Ted Mann won 2 games from Jun Tang, Robert Vinson beat Joe Renna, Pat Mazillo and Breadon Reinoso drew, and Lou Sturniolo beat Andy Altamarrano. Summer Tournament Week 8

With 4 weeks to go Bob Sherry has a 3.5 point lead with 11 points. John Moldovan is in second with 7.5. Mark Kernighan and Antonio Altamarino are tied for third with 6.5 each, Antonio is also in the lead for the U1200 prize. Following close behind are Greg Tomkovich and Breadon Reinoso with 6 each, and Praveen Balakrishnan with 5.5. Marvin Shumowitz maintained a perfect 5-0 score with a win over Robert Vinson.
